Me-oh-my-oh, don't despair!
You know what's awesome?
Well, yeah, three-day-banja-thons in the deepest hills of ol' Virginia (a.k.a. Mirkwood) - those are awesome. But We're talking about the next thing:
Having awesome choirs and orchestras from around the country work out arrangements to your songs and sing/play them with you when you come to visit. It's like "Oh, hey uncle Chester, thanks for coming over. I've worked up a harmony banjo part to your original banjo song "Purty Mouth", and I wanna jam on it with you".
It's awesome like that. Most recently, the good peopl eof Arizona graced us with their mad skills. Also Wisconsin, Utah, and Texas.
We enjoyed being in all those places. After a quick visit to Folk Alliance in Kansas City (not in Kansas), we're looking forward to many more stops in this great country of ours, and we hope to have more choirs and orchestras jam with us while we do.Read More

Like the majestic goose...
What do we do in January? We head south, friend. California. Arizona. That's how we roll.
Then to Denver. Oops. Oh well. I hear there's plenty of recreation to be had in Colorado, even in the winter.
If you're cold where you are, come find us on the road! Shimmy-shake your way to warm!Read More

Put down the Santa Hat...
We got everything we wanted for Christmas. Epic shows across the state, and Tilby finally admitted to the possible existence of a higher power. Santa Claus, to be precise.
2014 is busy right out of the gate. CA, AZ, TX, CO, all before the snow melts. Ryan is in the studio crafting, honing, refning, and awesomizing. Craig changed his bouzouki strings - do you know how hard those are to find? Roger learned the complete Slash Gutiar Solo Library. Tilby found a missing math assignment from 1998.
Come see us! New songs! New jokes! Same dance moves! We can't wait to catch up with you.Read More

The Gift Tour, 2013
It’s the most banjoful time of the year! Every Christmas, Ryan Shupe and the RubberBand wrap their virtuosic eccentricities into one clever Christmas concert they call “The Gift”.
If you’ve seen the RubberBand in action, you’re no stranger to their lively music. For Christmas, though, you’ll get a glimpse into the inner-workings of the band as you see (in hilarious flashback) the most sincere Christmas wish of each member of the band. You’ll then watch in rapt disbelief as the band shares gifts with each other – gifts that couldn’t possibly be less desirable to the giftee.
You’ll laugh, you’ll clap, you’ll weep with empathy for these mis-gifted pickers, and just when all hope seems lost, well, let’s just say there’s some jolly intervention that saves the day.
The message behind The Gift concert is best conveyed through Ryan’s song of the same name. It tells of He who gave us all a Gift, and reminds us, in spite of the levity, of the gravity of Christmas.
With crafty intertwining, you’ll experience classic Christmas music, monster musicianship, hilarious humor, and a message that will set the tone for the rest of the season.Read More

Thanksgiving Point Waterfall Ampthitheater
The fall show to end all fall shows. I know, right? Bring the family, a light jacket, and all the Shasta Black Cherry you can enjoy. Do they still make that stuff? It was so great...
Oh, the concert. Featuring Nate the Drummer on the very anthemic "Rock Dogs", Craig "Fo Shizzle" Miner on the wailing (and gnashing) banjo, and more surprise songs and classic one-liners than you'll be able to journal about in a week. It's THAT good.
The RubberBand has been all over the country this year, and it's nice to be home for a show. This venue is one of our favorites. See you there!Read More

2012 - The Mayans never saw us coming.
Collectively, as a band, we have decided to take the risk of disregarding the Mayan predictions of apocolypse and just play awesome music instead.
Foolishness? Perhaps. But we prefer to think of it as bravery.
Then again, what ever happened to that magnificent Mayan mega-culture anyway? They imploded. How can we insure that a similar fate doesn't await us all?
The banjo. That's how.Read More

The RubberBand has been good all year. Mostly. We would like to ask you for some or all of the following:
Shupe wants to look like Fabio. Not sure what you can do, but any effort would be much appreciated.
Craig can't cope with reality. Can you bring back his childhood?
Nate just wants a beaver. Not sure why...
Roger would like to join a rock band, and be the lead guitarist. Can you check into that?
Tilby is a non-believer. You may continue to ignore his pleas as you have managed to do for so many years now.
